Two late goals from Snodland saved the 40-strong crowd from extra time on a damp January afternoon in Kent, shortly after plucky visitors St Georges Wrotham had been reduced to 10 men.
On a roped of pitch that was part of a larger playing field, Snodland, the Kent County League Premier Division leaders, took the lead in the 15th minute. Visiting keeper Matthew Clark dropped a right-wing corner at the near post and Matt Lemione fired home at close range.
The visitors, who play in the lower Kent County League Division One West, got back on level terms six minutes after the interval. Steve Davies hit a rising 25-yard right-foot drive that Darrell Broadmore, off his line, could only palm into the net.
Extra time was looming when St Georges were reduced to ten men with the dismissal of Gary Kitt for second booking in the 85th minute. Snodland took advantage to regain the lead. Ricky Harris beat the offside trap down the right and crossed into the area where Lemoine eventually scored after Clark tried to block. The victory was wrapped up with a third goal in stoppage time when Malcolm Smith fired home from eight yard out inside a crowded area.
