There was a dramatic start when New Romney’s Jason Negus picked up a booking for a foul inside the opening minute.

Mark Bushnell gave Sevenoaks the lead in the 29th minute. He headed home from just outside the six-yard box at the far post after Micky Hallett flicked on Paul Gammage right-wing inswinging corner.

The lead was doubled a minute later through Richard King after Lee Aldridge played a low ball from the bye-line across the face of goal which beat New Romney keeper Matt Ellse at the near post. Dave Norburn passed to King who netted with a low shot from six yards out.

The visitors rarely troubled home keeper Darren Smart and Sevenoaks further increased their lead just before the hour mark. Kevin Marsh headed home at the far post via the underside of the bar from Mark Standing’s left-wing cross.

The outcome wasn’t in doubt and Sevenoaks wrapped up the win that took them into the final with a fourth goal scored in the 79th minute. James Townsend, out of the left, fed Standing who finished with a low angled drive from 15 yards into the bottom right corner.
