All the goals came in the second half at Rowley Park as Stafford MSHD gained the local bragging rights with a victory over Rangers Reserves by the odd goal in three. Following a goalless first half, MSHD took the lead just 57 seconds into the second half when Richard Garner lobbed Rangers goalkeeper Billy Turley from the edge of the area. Garner doubled his side’s lead in the 69th minute. He finished off a well-worked move with a low shot from eight yards out. Rangers grabbed a consolation goal during the last ten minutes. Darren Newman crossed from the left and Andy Thompson headed home past Pete Ingram at the far post.
The game wrapped up a busy footballing year for me of 176 games which produced a total of 551 goals.
