On a pitch which soaked up a lot of surface water in the hours before kick-off, two goals in each half gave Curzon Ashton a comfortable victory over visitors Chorley. Glyn Barker scored twice during the first-half before two goals in a minute soon after the restart effectively put the outcome beyond doubt. Barker thought he’d completed a hat-trick with a diving header only to be denied by a raised offside flag. Late on, Chorley scored a late consolation through Adam Farrell.
