After Feckenham took the points on Thursday, AFC Smethwick came out convincing winners in today’s return Midland Combination Division 2 fixture at their Holly Lane ground in Erdington. On a hot and sunny afternoon, Feckenham again gained an early lead but AFC Smethwick bounced back to net five unanswered goals. With hurling being played on a neighbouring pitch over the other side of the fence, it was good to watch the football in the company of Mike Greaves, Andy Dakin and another north-west-based traveller with his dog and son.
