Just like yesterday at Winslow for the Buckingham game, the groundhopping community was again out in force, this time to visit a ground which may not be used beyond the end of the current season. Houses may swallow up Alton Manor and it doesn’t feature on March’s Central Midlands League Bonanza. We all saw an entertaining game which visitors Nottingham United came from behind to win by the odd goal in five thanks to a hat-trick bagged by striker Kieran Watson. Veteran Tony Hemmings rolled back the years for Belper as an attacking midfielder, having played in the Football League for Wycombe, Chester and Carlisle as well as a host of non-league clubs such as Hednesford and Alfreton.
