Like the Sussex County League last week, games for me in the Essex Senior League have become something of a rarity since we moved from the South-East back to the Midlands. Prior to this afternoon, I’d only seen one game (October 2010 at London ASPA) in the league during the past 14 years. Saying that, before today, I had visited all but three of the current grounds (Hullbridge, Stansted and Takeley) though had not seen several teams who play at grounds used by others in the past (like Bethnal Green and today’s opposition Sporting Bengal United who share the Mile End Stadium prevously used by Tower Hamlets FC).
Stansted (blue/blue/blue): 1. Brad Simpson, 2. George Clarke, 3. Charlie Simpson, 4. Mark Roach, 5. Iwan Lewis, 6. Aaron Clarke, 7. Jay Foster, 8. James Blackaby, 9. Tyrone White, 10. Andy Reed (capt), 11. David Ratcliffe. Subs: 12. Jeff Williams-Baah (for Ratcliffe, 62), 14. Mark Francis-Johnson (for Foster, 62), 15. Cemal Agdelen (for Reed, 82), 16. Tom Le Masurier (not used).
Sporting Bengal United (lime green / black / black): 1. Amando Hall, 2. Michael Williams, 3. Marco Grandi, 13. Tim Piwinger, 5. Deshawn Stevens, 6. Steve Guaje, 7. Ashley Johnson, 8. Javier Riveria (capt), 9. Michael Beggs, 10. Tyler Bankale, 11. Stephen Forbes. Subs: 12. Carlos Adarue (for Johnson, 90+3), 14. Craig Heskey (for Beggs, 74), 15. Siyam Izycki (not used), 16.
