I felt a real sense of disappointment as I left Evans Park as, before the game, I was sure Stafford Town would mark my Dad’s first visit to the ground (and his first match anywhere this season) with a win. Bottom-of-the-league Darlaston Town took the lead against the run of play and held on to record only their fourth league win of the season despite Stafford creating a host of chances. The win, which followed up one at Bromyard in their last match on Tuesday, lifted ‘Darlo’ off the foot of the table for the first time this season.
