I needed to stay close to home this afternoon and, in any case, didn’t fancy travelling too far after getting back from Castleford after midnight. So, as I’d not previously visited Bentley Youth’s ground near M6 Junction 10, this West Midlands (Regional) League Division 2 game chose itself. Both sides occupied the top two positions in last season’s Wolverhampton Combination table and it was champions Red Star Alma who came out on top with two unanswered goals in each half.
