If we felt that this year’s Welsh Groundhop had set enough records, then we were in for another twist – a goal scored after just 10 seconds. Llansantffraid Village’s Wayne Austin took full advantage of acres of space down the left to slot home past Welshpool’s helpless goalkeeper Callum Hennegan. Austin quickly turned provider as he set up a second goal for Oliver Clarke after just 115 seconds and by the interval another five had gone in, making the half-score ‘Welshpool Town 3 Llansantffraid Village 4’. Llansantffraid Village managed just one more in the second half at this ground I’d previously visited in January 2009.
