As the 2012 Summer League season draws to a close, the penultimate round of league games are scheduled for this evening. For the benefit of those not aware, the number of postponements due to the appalling wet weather was so overwhelming so the League Council took the difficult decision to suspend the original league competition and replace it with two seven-team divisions.
Division One
Tonight's fixtures
Bradley v Osmaston
Coach Rangers v Brassington
Doveridge v The Bridge
Rose & Crown (no game)
After five rounds of fixtures, both Coach Rangers and Bradley have 100% records from their four games with Coach topping the table on goal difference. Both are at home tonight; Coach host Brassington while Bradley entertain third-placed Osmaston. Tonight’s other game sees Doveridge at home to The Bridge.
Regardless of results tonight, it is likely that Monday’s clash between Bradley and Coach Rangers will decide the destination of the 2012 Summer League title, though Osmaston still have a big say in the title race.
Division Two
Tonight's fixtures
Biggin v Red Lion
FC Hulland v Wheel
George & Dragon v Weston
Kirk Langley (no game)
While it is the turn of leaders Kirk Langley to not have a fixture tonight, Biggin can replace them at the top if they avoid defeat at home to third-placed Red Lion. FC Hulland and Wheel will both be looking for a win when they meet at Hulland Ward and give themselves a chance of finishing third. Weston complete their fixtures with a trip to Mayfield to face George & Dragon.
