From Penybont, it was a short trip further along the A44 to New Radnor and a second game in the Mid Wales League (South). Home side Radnor Valley hosted last season’s champions Newcastle at a scenic ground on School Lane surrounded by greenery, hills and sheep. Scott Oxford scored twice in four minutes midway through the first half to put the visitors in control. However, to their credit, Radnor Valley fought back to level things up before the interval. Newcastle scored what proved to be the winner a couple of minutes after the restart and held on to take all three points back across the border to Shropshire.
